Smt. Anitha Guha

Smt.Anitha Guha, received her formal training in classical Indian dance from Sri Govindaraj Pillai of Bangalore, and later perfected her skills under the guidance of Smt.Ananda Shankar Jayanth. Initially from Hyderabad, she established her dance school Bharathanjali after she moved to Chennai in 1990. Bharathanjali has since grown from strength to strength and now has more than 150 students. With the God�s gift of grace, elegance, innovation and her love for Bharathanatyam, Anitha devoted herself to choreographing her own dance ballets from a very young age and staged a variety of ballets along with her dance group Devi Nritya Kala Kendra in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Anitha continued to excel in her choreographic skills and could make her students aquire the same. Anitha has been conferred many awards and notable among them are: Acharya choodamani award from Krishna Gana Sabha in 2006; "Best Natyacharya" title from Indian Fine Arts Society (Chennai) in 1999, 2000 and 2008 when Medha was also awarded the best dancer; Excellent Choreography award from Shiva Foundation, Chennai (2004 � 2005); "Best Natyacharya" from Nrityopasana (2001) and "Nritya Kalaimani"from Nrityanjali Trust (2001).
